BATAQUAERCH

Folk Punk Tales: Stories of Resistance from Oltrepo Pavese

The "Bataquaerch" (Folk-Punk-Tales) is a project born from the collaboration between Camillo Moroni (Camo), founder and main vocalist, his cousin Giovanni Lanfranchi (Giotanni) on violin and mandolin, Paolo Ciotta on electric guitar (from "Ashpipe"), Matteo Zanesi (Popo) on percussion (former member of Corte dei Miracoli), Antonio Carta on second guitar and vocals, and Andrea Lafiura on bass. Although musicians from different backgrounds, they are united by the desire to tell stories of their land, Oltrepo Pavese, capturing the names, places, and people who played a crucial role during one of Italy's most significant periods: the biennium 1943-1945, with the aim of promoting the territory and, for those who do not yet know it, presenting it in all its complexity. These are simple stories of farmers, children, women, men of faith, soldiers, and hopeful youth who lived through a significant, tragic, difficult, and painful season, but one that brought about great changes that we still feel today.
