WHAT TO EXPECT/ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
The "Wool and Wood Beads" workshop for children is a creative and engaging experience designed to stimulate the imagination and manual skills of our young participants. During this fun activity, children will have the opportunity to create beautiful mobiles using a combination of colorful felted wool beads, wooden pieces, and beads. Through the use of hot water and soap, they will learn to felt the wool to create compact and vibrant spheres. Subsequently, they will assemble the wool beads together with the wooden pieces and beads to create unique and decorative mobiles that reflect their creativity and personality. This workshop not only provides children with the opportunity to explore materials and artistic techniques but also to express their creativity and discover the joy of creating something beautiful with their own hands
INTERESTING FACTS/INFO
The workshop takes place inside the Ethnographic Museum of Wood in Celledizzo, which preserves the history of the public sawmill of the village, where the "right of communal use" allowed registered individuals to request timber for constructions or renovations. The sawyer operated on the upper floor, using machinery to cut beams and boards.
