WHAT TO EXPECT /ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION

Night walk at Stelvio National Park to experience the secrets of the night.

There are 4 night excursions each week: 

  • two excursions, one in Val di Peio and the other one in Val di Rabbi, are in the company of mountain guides with astronomy expertise who will teach you interesting facts about the most important constellations and how to spot them;
  • two excursions, one in Val di Peio and the other one in Val di Rabbi, are in the company of nature guides who will teach you about the creatures, small and large, that inhabit the Park at night. 
INTERESTING FACTS

Stelvio is the largest national park in the Italian Alpine region. It extends across four provinces (Trento, Bolzano, Sondrio, and Brescia) and two regions (Lombardy and Trentino Alto Adige). 
The Ortles Cevedale massif is the heart of the protected area. Large conifer forests and beautiful meadows spread out from here, hiding the secrets of the valleys. This will be the backdrop of our small adventure.

WHAT WE SUPPY

We will provide scientific instruments such as call devices, bat detectors and night vision goggles. You will need a head torch for the night walk in the woods. If you don’t have one, the Park will lend you a properly disinfected one.
 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE

The activity is suitable for everyone.
Due to the time of the activity and physical demand, the experience is recommended for children aged 6 and over.

Height difference: between 50 and 100 metres; length of the walk: from 2 to 4 kilometres.

EQUIPMENT/CLOTHING

Hiking boots, jacket, windbreaker rain jacket, warm comfortable clothes, and small backpack. Mask and physical distancing as required by the COVID-19 safety protocol.

Meeting point at Information Office of Peio Fonti in Via delle Acque Acidule, n. 8

Nature excursion in Val di Peio: every Saturday night, from 26 June to 4 September

IN CASE OF BAD WEATHER

In case of anticipated inclement weather, the experience will be cancelled and either rescheduled or refunded.

COVID-19 SAFETY REGULATIONS

We want you to have fun safely. That’s why we are committed to compliance with the Covid-19 safety protocol issued by the Autonomous Province of Trento and revised by the Prevention Department of the Provincial Health Services Authority. 
In particular:

  • We invite you to arrive at the meeting point wearing your mask. 
  • You will be provided with clean and disinfected equipment.
  • If you decide to use one of the Park’s head torches, it will be clean and disinfected. However, we invite you to use your own if you have one.
  • Before the excursion, you have to fill out a privacy notice and self-certify that you show no signs of the flu and that in the 14 days prior to the activity you did not come in contact with persons who tested positive to Covid-19.
